Ryogoku Kokugikan – Watch Japan's national sport "sumo" live

What is exciting about watching a sumo match is to see the high-ranking sumo wrestlers' torikumi (bout) as they match strength against strength, to hear the sound of their naked bodies crashing into each other, or to watch their dynamic actions and skillful techniques. Dohyo-iri (ring-entering ceremony) starts at 4 p.m., when all the sumo wrestlers with kesho-mawashi (loincloth fronted with a elaborately decorated apron) gather together and enter the ring. The Sumo Museum next to Kokugikan exhibits various sumo-related materials and historical records, which you should also see. (Closed on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. Open every day during the sumo tournament.)
